About 411FCC

411FCC is an independent reverse phone lookup service that has been helping people identify unknown callers since 2003. Founded as a purpose-built phone number research tool, 411FCC has grown into one of the longest-running reverse lookup services in North America, covering the United States and Canada with over 233,000 phone prefixes across more than 18,000 cities.

Important: 411FCC is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) or any government agency. We are a privately operated service.

Our History

411FCC launched in 2003, when reverse phone lookup tools were scarce and unreliable. Over two decades, we have continuously expanded our database and refined our lookup technology. Our database is built from carrier records, North American Numbering Plan Administration (NANPA) prefix assignments, and proprietary data sources. This combination of sources allows us to provide carrier identification and line-type classification (wireless, landline, or VoIP) for each number searched.

What We Do

Our reverse phone lookup service allows you to search any 10-digit US or Canadian phone number and find information about the owner, including their name, geographic location, phone carrier, and line type. Whether you received a missed call from an unknown number, want to verify a caller's identity, or need to research a phone number, 411FCC delivers results within seconds.

Our Data Methodology

411FCC's lookup results are drawn from multiple data layers:

  • Carrier records — direct data from telecommunications providers identifying the company that issued each number
  • NANPA prefix assignments — the authoritative source for which area codes and prefixes are assigned to which carriers and regions across the North American Numbering Plan
  • Proprietary data sources — supplemental databases maintained and cross-referenced since 2003 to maximize coverage and accuracy

Our database is updated regularly to reflect number portability changes, new prefix assignments, and carrier mergers.

Coverage

411FCC maintains comprehensive phone number coverage across:

  • All 50 US states plus territories including Puerto Rico, Guam, and the US Virgin Islands
  • All Canadian provinces and territories, from Ontario and British Columbia to the Northwest Territories
  • Wireless (cell phone), landline, and VoIP number types with carrier identification

Our Commitment

We are committed to providing accurate, up-to-date phone number information while respecting user privacy. All data transmitted through our site is protected with SSL encryption. We comply with the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) and applicable telecommunications regulations.
